The Legacy of the Taj Mahal Necklace
The Taj Mahal necklace, once owned by Elizabeth Taylor, is a remarkable piece of jewelry with a rich history that dates back to the early 17th century. Originally gifted by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahangir to his wife, Nur Jahan, the pendant features an inscription meaning "Love is Everlasting." After passing through generations, it eventually became part of Elizabeth Taylor's collection, symbolizing her passionate relationship with Richard Burton, who gifted it to her on her 40th birthday.
In 2011, the necklace was auctioned at Christie's, setting records for Indian jewelry before returning to the Elizabeth Taylor estate amid authenticity disputes. Margot Robbie's recent appearance at the Wuthering Heights premiere wearing this iconic necklace highlights its enduring romantic significance. Stylist Andrew Mukamal coordinated with the estate to showcase this legendary piece, which remains a testament to love that transcends time.

Taj Mahal shines at Riverbend Blues Festival!
The Taj Mahal Trio didn't disappoint as the headliner for the 1st Annual Riverbend Blues Festival in Mankato, MN on July 2, 2011. The venue was excellent for this type of music festival, the only disappointment was the lack of Festival goers. The whole atmosphere was great from the vendors to the security people and spectators. The other bands were Great!, but I came to see the Legendary Taj Mahal on a gorgeous summer day/evening and left a very happy fan! I hope next year see's a much larger fan base and more great music. Mankato is on to something here, I came down from Hibbing, MN for the show and feel it was worth the long drive!
